If you got into an auto accident?
You got into an auto accident and no one got a ticket but, you used someones car, there was no insurance, and that person was legally disabled. The state sent them a letter saying they had to turn in their license and tags. The person filed an appeal and the state did not take the license or tags but, the person with the disability cannot renew their tags due to the accident that the other person had in her car. That person needs the vehicle for Doctor's appointments for her and her Mother who has MS. They live in a small town where there is no public transportation and no one to transport them. Is there any exemption for that person so she can get the tags for her vehicle? She is on SSi and cannot afford an attorney and legal aide said they do not handle cases like that. The insurance company totaled the other persons vehicle when it only had a dent in the rear pengers door for $10,000.00. I have searched the web all day and cannot find a thing. I live in Texas but, she lives in Iowa. Legal advice would sure be appreciated. I don't know how to help her. Thanks.
